The Great Divide

The interesting thing about fashion is the evolution of trends and the extremes to which certain styles can be taken. For the S/S 2010 season some designers ignored the towering platform shoes that have be dominant in many recent seasons and sent models down the runway in kitten heels. Still many other designers returned to the platform and looked for new ways to shape the shoe. These two approaches have produced some very different and very interesting shoe styles. Marc Jacobs, designing for Louis Vuitton, created kitten heals that bursted with tufts of fur. Alexander McQueen, on the other hand, created towering armadillo heels that envelop the foot in a tough shell-like environment and shiny, skeletal stilettos. Some shoes are sheep-like while others are fierce. Would you wear either of these?
